Thai Health Promotion Foundation (สสส.), The International Society for Physical Activity and Health (ISPAH) and WHO are holding the 6th ISPAH International Congress on Physical Activity and Public Health at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand. We are currently recruiting volunteers for November 16-19, 2016.

 

Why Volunteer?

It is fulfilling to be able to put your time and resources to a great cause, as non-communicable diseases related to lack of physical activity are becoming a major public health problem. This is a valuable opportunity to gain insights and experience in worldwide efforts to increase levels of physical activity to promote health and wellbeing, by being a crucial part of an international congress with over 1,000 delegates from around the world.                                              

 

As a volunteer for the 6th ISPAH International Congress, you will benefit from participation in international volunteer network and waived a registration fee for the congress. You will receive meals, health insurance, transportation expense, and a t-shirt. Additionally, each volunteer will be presented a “certificate of appreciation” from the ISPAH and Thai Health Promotion Foundation.

 

Qualifications

·      Age at least 18 years

·      Fluent in English communication

·      Strong commitment to the values and principles of volunteerism

·      Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

·      Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment

·      Prior volunteering experience or interest in health/physical activity is an asset

 

Expectations

After orientation day, volunteers are requested to commit at least 4 hours a day, for 2-4 days.

These are some examples of volunteer tasks:

·      Assisting participants with booth and poster set-up

·      Sharing information/answering questions with participants on-site

·      Providing logistic support for speakers and rapporteur team

·      Managing conference rooms’ agenda and readiness

·      Troubleshooting basic IT issues

Key Dates:

·      Application now until October 10, 2016

·      Candidates may be called for a brief interview on October 12, 2016

·      Announcement of volunteer names will be made by October 15, 2016

·      All selected volunteers are required to participate in a 1-day Orientation either on

       Sunday, October 30 or Saturday, November 5, 2016
