September 26, 20169 yr I have a baby born here in Thailand, I 'am an American , my question is i have just got him a Thai passport, if i go get his USA passport as i register him as an American, would he have to continue to get a visa like me? he is 2 yrs old. please let me know.. thank you .And I plan to go back to the States next yr, would he be on overstay if I don't do anything? forgot to add, the mother is Thai, and we aren't married yet. maybe will do it in the state
September 26, 20169 yr Registering his birth and getting his US passport changes nothing as far as his status here or his Thai citizenship. When leaves the country you will use his Thai passport at departure immigration and show his US passport at check in for the flight to prove he does not need a visa for there.
