NAKHON SI THAMMARAT: -- Police were called to a house in Thailand's murder capital Nakorn Sri Thammarat yesterday after a man shot his wife.

Dead at the scene in the Thung Prang sub-district of the southern province was 33 year old Piyaporn Thammamikakun. She was found propped up against the television cabinet in the living room, reported Daily News.

She had been shot once in the middle of the chest with an 11mm gun.

Next to her was her husband Pornchai, 35, who had a gunshot would to the head inflicted with the same gun but was still alive. He was rushed to hospital with grievous injuries.

Police said that the couple had argued about the wife chatting with other men on Facebook. In a jealous rage Pornchai shot his wife, then shot her phone to bits.

The third bullet he aimed at his own head but failed to end it all.

Pornchai is a well known roofing contractor in the area. His wife had been a clothes seller in the local market.

Nakorn Sri Thammarat is thought to have the highest murder rate per population of any province in Thailand.

'Ponchai is a well known roofing contractor in the area'.

I think he has a slate loose.

11mm... couldn't find his brain...

Brain was obviously smaller than the bullet

And orphaned kids, presumably.

"Love is a serious mental illness." ?

Author unknown...

I read that quote many years ago and rejected it.

Over time,  especially after reading all these suicide, murder and attempted murder news articles, I'm beginning to believe that love is an an illusion and can be mental illness or the cause and accelerate depression.  My two divorces in the U.S. many moons ago made me think more about the quote.

It seems to me the renters of love have more spendable money, are happier and live longer, providing they keep asking questions!

The  author  must've been a genius. I wonder if he's here in Thailand.

If the author is reading this identify yourself.  More quotes please.   :clap2:

This had nothing to do with love.

It was all about jealousy and possessiveness.

Are you thinking of  ' Love is a temporary illness cured by marriage ' ?

The Devil's Dictionary.

Ambrose Bierce ( 1842-1914 )

"The third bullet he aimed at his own head but failed to end it all."

I suppose that was because there was nothing there for the bullet to hit.

Sorry to read about his heartbreak but he should have learned to be stronger than that. Kick that woman out of the house and raise the kids himself.

Then again, his sensitive personality might have been the reason his wife was talking to other men in the first place...

...welcome to the hub of infidelity......

.....***(in response to some of the jack*ss posts as to 'Why we are here'...what do you do when everything you had has been taken...)

For the ultimate irony, someone should post what's left of the jealous husband Pornchai's brain on Facebook.

Putting aside this was a murder and the fact the wife was flirting at the very least I wonder what the incidence of domestic violence resulting from a family member spending all their time on their smart phone is ?

love in insanity, marriage is the cure. maybe not in this case however.

Aside from the murder,  another reminder that the greatest risk of attempting to commit suicide is the risk of not completing it.  Living the rest of one's life as a vegetable would be a tough sentence indeed.  Worse than death, IMHO.

Jealousy and Love are not so easily seperated.

But its amazing how many people actually attempt suicide and fail.

Jealousy should have no part in love.

As to your second sentence...?

Shoulda, Woulda , Coulda...how many spouses are not offended when their significant other has an affair or are caught cheating?

Then choices need to be made.

Those who truly did once or still do love forgive or, if they cannot, walk away.

Those who are merely possessive or jealous act as this scumbag did.

Bullets don't have much effect on compacted sawdust  !

RIP the lady, another victim of a normal day in Thailand, where everyone is sooooo happy.....because the Big Pumpkin said so  !

She did contribute to this whole outcome--was she really 100% victim ?

Yes she was.

He could have left and/or divorced her.

IMO events are a lot less about jealousy and love than they are about face. It never fails to amaze me how much actual face (no pun intended) people will be willing to lose to make up for a much smaller, perceived loss of face.

Shooting her phone symbolizes shooting all the guys she was talking to.

If it had been a different situation, this man-child excrement would have killed more people.

The heart has reason that logic know not of.....

or she could have left and divorced her.

Have you ever actually been in arelationship before?

There are always two sides to a story and it always takes two.

RIP  Piyaporn Thammamikaku.

The husband could be a prime candidate for Government position helping mitigate annual flooding. Loser! :post-4641-1156693976:

Been in several.

A couple ended badly.

Never killed anyone of them though. Just left.

Maybe she did do something wrong. Hardly justifies killing her does it?

I never suggested the killing was "justicied"...but simply that she contributed to the outcome and was not an innocent bystander.

If either member of a relationship no longer cares for the other person then they should end it because absolutely no good comes from remaining.
