BANGKOK: -- After 14 years of legal battle through three courts, the Supreme Court has finally cleared the former director, former manager and two surgeons of Wachiraprakan hospital of murder and forgery charges concerning with the removal of kidneys from two dead patients to be transplanted to other patients.

The four defendants are former hospital director Dr Sirote Kanchanapanjaphol, former hospital manager Nanthawit Thongchai and two surgeons, Dr Veeradet Lertdamrongrak and Dr Vivat Thirapanich.

Murder and forgery charges were brought against the four defendants by the public prosecutor on April 25, 2002. The case dated back to February 24-26, 1997 when the four men were accused of forging a document declaring the intention to donate the victims’ organs to the hospital for medical purposes. The document was later signed by Mr Charoen Deeyotha and Mr Somkiat Tanchanachai, father and husband of Ms Ladda Deeyotha, a patient from fatal road accident.

Justice... :coffee1:

WOW if they indeed forged the documents, I would think they should serve a long time in jail, If they got paid for the organs then double the sentence.
