BANGKOK: -- Chulalongkorn University has joined forces with business sectors and the Nation Group to officially launch the CU Innovation Hub this week.

The hub will serve as a space for students and people with creative ideas to come up with innovative ideas, according to CU rector Bundit Euaarporn.

Chula Alumni Association president Thewin Wongwanich said Thailand must step forward to become an innovation society.

The amount of monies wasted in such ventures are better spent in improving basic primary and secondary education in public schools.

Isn't foundation building important? :passifier:

Great idea but too radical I'm afraid and there's no publicity headlines in it.

But,  but but they have a graph!  And a PowerPoint presentation I'll wager. Ye of little faith. In no time creative ideas will transform to innovative ideas and creatively innovative proactive constructive creations.

Innovation means breaking up with the old ways, which in turn often is considered disturbing by the vast majority. How will a society that considers unquestioned respect for authority - parents, husband, superior at work, military government, the royal family - the highest virtue in life ever become an "innovation society"? Not in my lifetime, I'm afraid.

If anyone knows of a single internationally successful Thai software, IT or whatever startup company, surprise me.

They should come up with some software that keeps track of all the hubs.  They can be the hub of hubs.
