October 3, 20169 yr Just bought a new car, and the dealership had the window film applied for us. Every window had at least one of the manufacturers name printed on. I tried window cleaner to remove it, nothing happened. I tried alcohol. Nothing happened. Went to a dealer who specialises in window film, to be told that cannot take off writing......wait for the sun to fade it. Came home and decided to try acetone (nail polish remover). One wipe with a soft cloth dampened with the acetone and the writing was gone.
October 3, 20169 yr Nail varnish remover - don't remove it all, leave one piece untouched so that you'll know what the spec is if you need to replace it (or the wind shield).
October 3, 20169 yr Petrol works just fine with a soft cloth, write down the numbers in case need a replacement in the future.
October 3, 20169 yr Someone awhile back said an eraser worked..... I just left mine on - kind of overlooked/got used to it.... If I took it off now I'd probably notice it more now & miss it.....
October 3, 20169 yr thanks for that. Have that also on the company car and it is indeed really annoying.
October 4, 20169 yr I have some on mine right in front of my vision on the front window. Scared to use anything like nail varnish remover in case it takes off the film as well.
