Question about my METV

Featured Replies

I have the visa from Aug,10 to Feb,9 and my stamp for the 2 months being up is on Oct,23rd so what do I do? I have never had an METV before in all the years I have been coming here. Do I just run to the border like the old 30 visas or do I need to go to a Thai embassy in a neighboring country for a couple of days like with the old double entry visas? Also what is the best way to use it to get it to work out for 9 months;

Do a border run to get another 60 days.

You can also get a 30 day extension from Immigration.

Do a border run the day before the Visa expires and get another 60 days.

  • Make your last out/in border hop as close to February 9th as you can.
  • Even if you enter on Feb 9th (last possible date to enter) you'll be granted permission to stay for 60 days.
  • At the end of the 60 days you can apply for a 30 day extension of stay which costs 1,900 baht.
