PM inspects flood-stricken provinces in Central Plain

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha today began visiting flood-stricken areas in the Central Plain to inspect damages caused to farmers and their paddies submerged by water discharged from dams.

His destinations included Ayutthaya and Chai Nat provinces.

His inspection trip came after he yesterday ordered the Royal Irrigation Department and governors of all flooded provinces to clarify the public over the cause of flooding.

The prime minister wanted the public to receive correct information on flooding caused by water discharged either  from dams or from water diverted to their farmlands so that more compensation could be given to them to relieve the trouble.

The prime minister said he has ordered authorities concerned to urgently clarify the public to understand that the flood was caused by the heavy downpour.

Wait, does he want the public to receive the correct information on flooding caused by water discharged either from dams or from water diverted to their farmlands or be told that the flood was caused by the heavy downpour?

Strange, how does one inspect something that doesn't exist according to official statements?

no flooding

no flooding

Just a lot of standing water...

he should be pointing out the silver lining. he promised to stop the drought with rain making activities right?

I wonder if he remembers insisting "the water situation in the Central Plains was not worrying," after a cabinet meeting on Aug 16, promising that flood water flowing from the North would not overflow downstream provinces in the Central Plains...

Well it couldn't flood without rain so he's not lying but the readiness and reaction to it is clearly only pertinent in past cases. The rain caused it. No kidding Sherlock.
