jonclark
Yesterday we found a female blue-rumped parrot dazed and confused in the street - it seems to have flown into a street lamp and it isn't able to fly at the moment (or its very scared, or both) . I am a bit stumped as to know what to do with it. It is a CITIES II listed species and its natural habitat clearly isn't the outskirts Bangkok, preferring lowland forests of S. Thailand and Malaysia, so I am not really happy about letting it go as its not gonna last long. I'd imagine its escaped from a collection somewhere, there are no rings or anything on it. I'd like to give it to a bird sanctuary or similar - anyone got any ideas or info on local sanctuaries that might be interested - more than happy to get on the phone to them. Don't want to sell or give it away as it is a CITIES listed species. Cheers

AjarnNorth
I also just read that Kuiburi National Park in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province has a population of this species, but it it's been a caged bird for some time I don't know what the likelihood of its making a transition to life in the wild would be... https://www.thainationalparks.com/kui-buri-national-park
