Sumo competition will celebrate 130 years of Thai-Japanese relations

BANGKOK:-- JAPAN will hold a full-scale sumo tournament in Thailand next year as part of the celebrations of 130 years of bilateral ties between the countries, Deputy Prime Minister Tanasak Patimapragorn said on Saturday.

 

It would be the first such event in Asia outside Japan, Tanasak said, adding that the Japanese |had rarely held sumo competitions outside of their country.

Oh in Oz they love white beans on toast or spaghetti (from a can) on. On our local market there's always a long qeueu of "sumo's" waiting at the deepfried saucages and bread stand.

 

I didn't know there are sumo-wrestlers in Thailand.

 

Once at Swampy airport while i was in the very long qeueu for immigration there were many Japanese Sumo's who all could take the fast lane as VIP's.

 

 

 

Great friends for 130 years, krub, except for that one time when your armed forces invaded and we capitulated within two hours, then kowtowed to your every whim—including declaring war on the US and Great Britain— for the next four years hehe, but everything's fine now krub.
