Hi,

A friend of mine wants to visit her boyfriend in Belgium, 8 years ago she overstayed her visa in Australia. She wonders if this will show up when she applies for the new visa.

I imagine it won't I also recommended she got a new passport just to be on the safe side.

Any ideas?

I really have no idea but, like you, I cant imagine the Belgian embassy having access to records of the Australian embassy and as you say if she has a clean passport I can't see how it would turn up. Best you tell them if they ask but cant imagine they will.

What does it say in the passport about the overstay that would alert them.

Well if its stamped in the passport - overstay I'm quite sure the belgium embassy will see it, and take note. :o
