NSC urges public to report any suspicious activities

BANGKOK, 11 October 2016 (NNT) - The National Security Council (NSC) has urged the public to report any suspicious activities to prevent potential national security threats.

NSC Secretary-General Gen Taweep Netniyom said the government will implement security preparations when confronted with any sign of potential bomb threats. He urged the public to participate in preventing national security threats by reporting any suspicious activities, vehicles or behavior.

Gen Taweep added that officials will deploy checkpoints in risky areas to boost public confidence and urges the public to remain calm.

I'm working in France at the moment and the security presence is very noticeable everywhere, not just airports.

What is wrong with the Thai authorities ?? There is obviously a threat of more bombings, so why don't the security agencies do their job !!

Get out there you lazy b%$ta$S and earn your money, stop relying on the public to give you a heads up...

There's no money in it for them

"To boost public confidence ..."

I love the honesty.

Security theater as opposed to just security.

Don't think for a moment that the Mothers Day blasts were 'organised' by Southern Militants. Rather, an offshoot likely contracted to make it appear a BRN or Southern Militant op. Previous Samui mall and Erawan blasts also look extremely suspect. Rank and file 'red tomato' police always go for a simple deflecting patsy.

Now, with a long dreaded transition looming as well as a big money confiscation looming, someone has at least 35.7 billion reasons and a last chance opportunity to pull out all the stops

Recommend all look out for signs of a prominent desert desperado's family & relatives  jetting off on sudden overseas shopping trips again... Meanwhile, would also recommend avoiding high traffic areas and popular tourist venues.

Me going to tour Angkor Wat...

The whole of Thailand - its length and breadth - has been filled with 'suspicious activities' since May 2014!

Where to from here ???

Unfortunately, it seems that Thai security officials (in particular the RTP) are rapidly turning a potentially "explosive" situation into a farcical display of bumbling confusion approaching Keystonian proportions.

In quick time we've been subjected to allegedly leaked information, an official denial, a statement that all is under control, and then a raid and apprehension of "suspects".

Now, the public are being enlisted to act as the eyes and ears of the authorities.

We are even being given descriptions of the suspected car-bombs.

While one sincerely hopes that nothing untoward eventuates, it is essential that in the final wrap up, the bumblers are held to account for their incompetence.

And that clique wouldn't hesitate to inflict serious carnage and damage to protect itself (but not necessarily its following sheep) or from fading into obscurity!

Because I doubt its bomb threats at all, a different threat, one that soldiers and police boots on the ground can't help.

A long rain's gonna fall.

Sheep? That's a kind term compared to some I could have used to describe the useful ***** that ACTUALLY believe the junta bs.

Yes. And the drip-drip-drip of the 'weather forecast' - all stage-managed - has already begun!
