BANGKOK: -- The Government Housing Bank has set aside a 500 million fund to be extended to its customers affected by flood this year.

GSB managing director Chatchai Sirilai said Wednesday that, for bank customers who are affected by flood, the bank would cut their loan interest rate to zero for the first three months and to slash the interest rate for the 4th-12th months to MRR-2.50 percent, MRR-2.00 percent for the second year and MRR-1.00 percent for the third year and MRR-0.50 percent for the rest of the years.

Currently, the GSB’s MRR rate is set at 6.75 percent per annum. For new customers, the bank will charge 3 percent interest rate for up to three years for the customers to be used to fix their houses damaged by flood.
