UDON THANI: -- A gas station attendant on a day off fled from her room in terror after a two meter cobra came to say hello. But all the same she reckoned that the visit was a lucky omen.

Panicha Khaman, 27, who works at a PTT in downtown Udon said that she was having a day off sick on Wednesday, reports Thairath

After chatting to a friend on the phone on her bed she prepared to go out and saw the snake slither into a laundry basket.

She ran out of her rented room in a fright. She then performed a Buddhist ritual apologizing for past sins because she believed that the snake had been sent to her.

She thought it was an event with portents of good fortune but needed to allay any possible bad luck by apologizing and asking the snake to leave her alone.

Then she called the snake catchers from the Songserm Tham foundation to help resolve the matter.

They soon entrapped the visitor who was extricated from under Panicha's bed and later returned to nature.

All rituals in Thailand involve Fanta. According to Thai Buddist tradition concerning rituals it does not HAVE to be red Fanta. Orange Fanta will work too.

But lao is smuggled into the wat in reused oishi bottles... it *must* be oishi for reasons only the thai male can understand. So complex a society. Lol!!
