combined extension of stay, income letter and bank deposit

Featured Replies

This topic has been discussed  previously but not really clarified.

My  extension of  stay is expiring in March 2017.

I have a Non O  visa originally issued in the Thai embassy Munich in October 2014.

On arrival at Suvarnaphumi airport a extension of  stay was issued until 14 March 2015. After 3 months of stay  I went to the Immigration in Mae Sai and had it converted in a Re Entry Permit and  another extension until 14 March 2016. This extension was than prolonged into  the  one expiring  on March 2017. The  question now is? I don't have the required 800.00 Baht deposited  3 months prior to  another 1 year extension of my permit to stay.

I can obtain a letter from my Embassy  about my monthly  pension income paid into my bank account in Germany which is below 65.000 Baht.

The difference I have  in my Thai Bank account. I withdraw money  here  with my Thai ATM card and other International ATM cards

Do I have to season  the   approx. 400.000 baht for 3 month prior to the extension of stay?

The income letter from the embassy would be valid for 6 month from the date of issue.

Please elaborate.

What IO office do you use?

The rules do not state the money has to be in the bank for 3 months but many immigration offices are now requiring it.

Yes the money will need to be in your bank for 3 months prior to the application date, and most offices do allow the income letter to be up to 6 months old.

Phuket does not require it to be seasoned.

make sure it was over the 800,000 as they use a terrible rate to figure if your income and deposit total 800,000

Not my experience over the past three years - they always insist the bank balance over my pensions be seasoned for three months.

As usual at Phuket Immi your experience may vary ...
