Re-entry permit for Multi entry visa holder

Featured Replies

Hi

My colleague holds a Multiple entry Non-B visa, and it's expiring October 29th. And our company is still waiting for BOI approval. When he exits country next week,  can he also apply re-entry permit at the airport? So he can extend the staying until BOI approval.

Or only single entry non-b visa holder can apply re-entry permit?

Thanks!

  • Yes he can apply for a re-entry permit at the airport.
  • The re-entry permit will only protect the remainder of his existing 90 day permission to stay.

similar case: multi entry B (but no work permit) expires December 16, latest 90 day period ends Nov 28. Planning to travel out of the country and getting another 90 day stamp. Will a re-entry permit issued after the actual Visa has expired, but still within the 90 day period obtained: Like, leaving January 15. Will the re-entry permit be issued until the last day of the initial 90 day period, which could be around Feb 28 or so.  Ubonjoe hello {-_-}  ?

A re-entry permit is issued for a permit to stay. The visas expiration date has nothing to do with it.

Thank you for confirming this, this was my understanding too. But as it will be my first time using the re-entry permit, I want to be on the safe side.

And thank you for not letting me down in responding quickly as usual  ;-)

- Hi's last stamp is saying he can stay until 17th of January, but he's non-b will be expired 29th of October.

- If he applies re-entry permit (Multiple) on 26th of October, will he have a permission to come back to Thailand even after 29th of October? (Until the 17th of January).

Did I understand you correctly? :) thanks!

Yes.

  • The visa becomes irrelevant when it expires on Oct 29th.
  • He can apply for a Re-Entry Permit anytime between now and leaving the country.
  • A Multiple Entry Re-Entry Permit will allow him to exit/enter as often as he wants until Jan 17th.
  • On each entry he will be given a new permit to stay (stamp) until Jan 17th.
