Hello Everyone.  I am looking to move to Thailand in the next 6 months-1 year.  I am from the U.S. and work for a U.S. based company.  I can work anywhere, so I am looking to move out to Thailand.  I do not have any intentions to work for a Thai company or have any Thai employees, and will work only with U.S. clientele.  Do I need a work visa?  If not that, what visa would I need?

There no work visa. Only a work permit allows you to work and you have to be working for a Thai registered company to get one.

Many people are doing on what you plan on doing. As long as you keep a low profile and do what you are doing in privacy you will not have a problem.

Most people are using tourist visas to stay here but it can be problematic to keep doing it for several years.
