Australia ranked 23rd out of 26 countries when it comes to broadband satisfaction

Esther Han

Australians continue to be among the least satisfied users of broadband in the world, according to a new report.

In a ranking of 26 countries based on respondents' level of satisfaction with high-speed broadband, Australia came in at number 23, followed only by Brazil, Peru and Italy.

The finding appears in a new report by research firm Ipsos about the world's infrastructure needs and priorities. It found Australians were largely satisfied with the quality and performance of airports, water and sewerage systems, and rail networks, and were most dissatisfied with broadband, energy generation infrastructure and flood defences.

Only surprise there is that it was that high. I wold have thought 25 or 26 would have been where most consumers would have expected the ranking to be.

I am not at all surprised at this finding. It is an utter disgrace when I get better much better results using:-

here in Thailand than in Perth, Adelaide or the Gold Coast as recorded during my last trip in August 2016. AND the Thai services are less than 1/2 the price offered by Australian providers for an equivalent service.

People laugh back in Oz when they see the jumble of cables on the street power poles all of us know so well here but internet services here while not so reliable are very good in comparison with the speeds available in Oz.
It is a disgrace along with consumer pricing for internet, phones and other utilities there.

The absolute hammer in Australia is that most providers give you only a number of gigabytes download

and the jungle of very high tarifs is an absolute nightmare. In some parts of the country you still get only

tho old 256bit over the phoneline....

The only art mastered by Australian Telcos/internet providers is sending out bills.

Gosh, I am surprised - NOT.
