Princess Ubolratana leads morning funeral ceremony, passes out food and drink to mourners

BANGKOK, 24 October 2016 (NNT) – Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya today led the offering of the morning meal for monks performing the funeral prayer for His Majesty the late King Bhumipol Adulyadej.

Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya arrived at Dusit Throne Hall at 7:03AM, accompanied by Princess Adityadhornkitikhun. She led the presentation of the morning meal to monks performing Royal Funeral Rites. Monks present at the ceremony today included clergymen from Wat Rakang Kositaram and Wat Sutasanathepwararam.

The princess had her To Be Number One Foundation pass out food, snacks and drinks to citizens assembled around the Grand Palace in mourning for His Majesty the late King. Previously, she had personally handed out food to mourners from the To Be Number One tent set up near the Grand Palace.

She has expressed concern for citizens who have traveled to the mourning site from outside of Bangkok and tasked her foundation with making sure there is adequate food and water for all, including those departing from the area for home.
