Online magazine lauds HM the late King's political savvy

BANGKOK, 24 October 2016 (NNT) – Online magazine New Eastern Outlook has published an article lauding His Majesty the late King Bhumipol Adulyadej for his political contributions.

Political researcher and writer for New Eastern Outlook Tony Cartalucci has written a piece titled “Why is the Passing of Thailand’s King a Big Deal?” detailing His Majesty the late King’s brilliance in the realm of politics.

Translated by Wirat Wanicchakorn, the article lauds the late King for his ability to remain above the power struggles of the Kingdom’s political factions, noting that ability as key to the deep respect the late King receive from his subjects.

The writer noted that His Majesty the late King’s navigation of political boundaries helped Thailand to avoid the violent escalations seen in many of its neighboring countries and that can now be seen in nations of the Middle East.

The article went on to indicate the value of His Majesty the late King’s status as a social and emotional touchstone for Thailand’s citizens.
