Loan sharks busted in Banglamung

PATTAYA: -- Soldiers and Chonburi district authorities busted a large loan sharking operation Monday.

 

Six men were forced onto the floor as a search of the premises in the Takian Tia sub district was conducted. 

 

Owner of the property Singh Sattham , 37, was arrested along with five other Thai men. Cash, a Volkswagen van and many other items like gold and amulets worth two million baht were taken into evidence.

 

Singh denied involvement but the authorities say they   have plenty of evidence to convict.

 

The raid is part of a Section 44 operation against people of influence in the area.

 

A small quantity of ganja was also found in the raid on Monday.
