Leaving Thailand fore some time

Featured Replies

What I need to know is as I have a retirement visa and I am leaving Thailand do I need to report this to Immigration or can I just go as I will not be returning for some years

You can always leave - if you do not have a re-entry permit current stay would be lost even for an overnight exit - no problem starting the process over again if you decide to return.

No need to report to them.

You will stamped out of the country and their database will show it.

Some years?  -> Gone and forgotten.

Retirement visa expired.

On return you start from scratch.

That is close compared to what some people have to travel to get to an immigration office. For those in some provinces it is 200 km or more.

When they moved the office last year it made my trip to it about 90 km now. Started doing my 90 day reports by mail instead of my wife going to do them.
