Hi Everyone,  I have just changed my Non B extension to extension based on marriage ( Thai Wife) .      I  joined  a new school and now they are asking me to change my extension based on marriage to be based on Job (Non B).   

 

Question-

1. Can I change my extension back to non B based on job,  even though I just changed my extension to Non O (extension based on marriage )?

2. How many times can I change my extension of stay from Non B to Non O (marriage) and again to Non B without leaving the country?  

3. Can I change back to Non B extension now or do I have to wait till my Non O extension expires?

At most regional Departments of Employment, you can get a work permit when you have a one-year extension for living with your Thai wife. There is no need to change to an extension for the reason of employment. If your prospective employer tells you otherwise, he is wrong.

The advantage of having a work permit with a marriage extensions is that you do not need to cancel your extension or change the reason for the extension every time you change employers.

 

The advantage for your employer is that he has to give you less documents for the marriage extension than he would have to give for the employment extension.

As said you can work with an extension of stay based on marriage so there is no need to make the change and are better off with an extension based on marriage than work.

 

You can change the reason for your extension as often as you want at the end of each year as it is effectively a new application.
