What are these creatures on the beach?

Featured Replies

A few weeks ago I saw these little creatures up the back of a beach in Phuket, near vegetation and wind had blown them into footsteps in the sand.

There were many 100's (or more) of them and never saw them again after that day.

I've shown this video to locals but no one knows what they are.
Any idea what they are please?

I wonder if an insect. Normally 6 legs but these look like 4 legs with 2 feelers.

Maybe it grows up to be an ocean thingy :)

These insects are called sea skaters or sea striders, they belong to family Gerridae, genus Halobates.
