The Washington Post praises lifelong work of King Bhumibol Adulyadej

WASHINGTON DC, 27 October 2016 (NNT) - The Washington Post has praised His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej as the bringer of prosperity for Thailand.

The US news outlet presented a special feature on 70 years of the reign of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, highlighting his royal duties that have elevated Thailand from poverty to a middle-income economy. Despite not having any legal power, His Majesty possessed great virtues that earned respect from his people, while his philosophies have permeated all aspects of the Thai way of life.

The article attributed Thailand’s ascension as a regional powerhouse to His Majesty’s contributions in promoting good governance, as well as his ability to bring about national stability and development during times of regional turmoil. Most notably, His Majesty was able to spare the country from the various political crises that befell the region after World War II.
