I have been advised that th.mouser.com would be a good source for some passive components I need; 4 items about US$40 worth. I assume these will come from the US unless they hold local stock? Their website indicates availability but not where. Anyone have experience about how they ship and if such items would attract Thai Customs delays and charges?

Thanks,

What do you actually need? NPE hold a decent stock of common passives in Thailand.

The Ban Mo (Thip Wari Alley / Old Siam plaza) area of Bangkok also stands a good chance of having what you want if you don't mind hunting through miles of little alleys.

If you have to order from overseas you stand a better than even chance of avoiding duty and tax if they come by regular post rather than one of the couriers.

I can get from aliexpress or amazon but just wishing to expedite things. I am in Pattaya and not keen on a Ban Mo trawl right now.

Just noted the mouser home page indicates DHL, FedEx and UPS for shipping. Duty magnet!!

100W 8R is a specialist value (for amplifier testing I assume) even RS don't appear to carry it.

I'd go for the AliExpress option https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Shipping-10PCS-LOT-RX24-100W8R-Gold-Aluminium-Shell-Resistance/32313494313.html?spm=2114.40010208.4.32.VeF04G $10 for five and free shipping.

Nice find. I thought I could get them quicker from amazon in the UK, deliver to my sister there and get her to drop them in a Royal Mail jiffy bag. But it looks like most everything they have listed is probably coming from China as well. eBay next...
