Reason the tour buses are gone

I heard there was a crackdown on tour buses, supposedly because they were marketed as 0 baht (no spending required).

 

This begs the question: who has authority to allow/disallow tour businesses to operate? In other countries if what you advertise is legal, you can still ply your trade even if it caters to cheap people.

Who has the authority ? ...that would be those nice men in green who are bringing happiness back to Thailand in everything they do. :D

Many countries have a licensing system for tour and bus operators. Thailand is one of them. Withdraw the licence and you effectively prevent the company from operating. Such licences would normally be issued by tourism departments or land transport departments, or both.

Use the search function: "Zero Dollar" and you'll find the reason for LESS tour buses in Pattaya.

There's plenty left.

There are so many open topics about so called zero dollar tours there is really no reason to open a new one:
