BANGKOK: -- Consumer’s price index or inflation rate for the month of October was registered at 106.85 points or 0.34 percent increase compared to that of the same period last year, said Ms Pimchanok Wornkhorporn, deputy director of the Office of Trade Policy and Strategy, on Tuesday.

The rate increase was the seventh in a row, averaging 0.06 percent rise monthly for the past ten months.

The increased CPI was attributable to 0.89 percent price increase of food and non-alcoholic drinks segment and 0.02 percent price increase of non-food and non-drink segment such as eggs and pork.

Why do I read this rubbish. All I have to look at is my grocery bill and the zero COLA increase on my meager pension. I wish the government would quit trying to dumb me down.

Yeah, but my spuds have gone up 20% at my local big C !

This is good news. Inflation stimulates economic growth. Military officers wages, politicians wages, bureaucrats wages will be adjusted upwards to compensate. The "haves" will have more money to spend. The "have nots" will have to tighten their belt but who cares. The country is on a roll and inflation is helping.

I only buy from Tesco  British multinational grocery .. But i notice things still cheap these day and not double pricing standards ..

oh well, the THB 10 per day increase on the minimum wage is effectively wiped out by the inflation

Inflation rising,Interest rates on deposits falling, and prices of food stuffs

are going up all the time,Rice is supposed to be a lot cheaper.....but not

in the shops and markets.
