Extend a tourist visa at the Immigration

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

im French and I came in Bangkok with a 60 days visa on my passport, it will end on the 14th December but I would like to stay longer. I've read on several forums that it's possible to extend 30 days more by going to the immigration and pay 1900b but I have question about it :

- Do I have to wait till December to make the extension, or can I go now? I must say I like to do things fast so it's done and I don't have to think about it anymore but maybe the immigration will find it too early?

Thanks for for your help :)

A visa cannot be extended. You will be extending your 60 day permit to stay the visa allowed you to get on entry.

You can apply for the 30 day extension of stay during the last couple of weeks of the 60 days.

I am here on a 90 day, single entry Non imm O, based upon marriage.

Expires first week in December.

Can I extend with 30 days as well at immigration?

You can get a 60 day extension to visit your wife. There is not 30 day extension for non immigrant visas.

Im already here, so by "visiting" my wife, that is just a technical term I guess.

Anyhow, 60 days are better than 30.

Visiting your wife is the basis for the extension shown in the rules. You are already visiting your wife so it allows you visit her longer.

Thanx for the confirmation.

  • 1 month later...

A follow up since my visit is just around the corner.

Anyone with a link to the office in KKC?

Or, a link to the form I will fill out to request 60 days extra?

thnx

A TM7 form is used for all extension applications. Download and print two sided http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/download/pdf/tm7.pdf

Thank you very much.
