Non B visa renewal

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I have a bit of a problem. I am employed at the moment and recently renewed my work permit. My non immigrant B visa, must be renewed before the 10th of November, but I gave my resignation and will terminate on the 18th of November. Though I planned to leave the country on the 23rd of November and have my flight tickets already.

My company tells me that they can only do a 7 days extension of my visa, and then I will have to pay the fine until the 23rd (500baht / day). Otherwise they tell me that I must leave the country before the 10th and come back on a tourist visa (30 days).  Can you tell me if a 30 days extension of Non B, exists without leaving the country? Or any other solution?

Thank you

You can only get 7 days to leave the country. There is no 30 day extension possible.

Your only choice is to leave and re-enter the country to get a 30 day visa exempt entry or changing your scheduled departure date.

Thanks a lot for your answer Ubonjoe. It helped me a lot in my negotiation with my company ... which wasn't easy. Those 7 days are an allowance for packing and leaving and not for working 7 more days right?

The 7 days is to give you time to leave after your extension ends.
