More amazed at anyone who doesn't consider leaving at least once a week.

I considered it.

Seriously. Very seriously. and more than a few times a day recently.

About the same number of times I considered shagging the 25 year old neighbor Pretty model who knows I am married and loves to chat in the lift and show me her new dress as I compliment her and we do the dance, knowing if we did not live in the same building it would be a lot more fun.

yeah, I considered leaving. it was deep thought, well reasoned. 

although most do not reveal their true motive for staying, i suspect much of it is financial, as the cost of living here can be quite low if you adapt your lfestyle...although i do not want to live in this fashion, i know a couple of expats who spend less than 100 baht on food per day...they do not drink, explore, or entertain, so they are content with a very good internet plan, street food, and a tv...they survive on less than 20,000 a month, and would probably be hermits in their home country, so thailand is as good a place as any to be isolatted, i suppose

 

i suspect the other reason is that we are anchored to a relationship...taking care of someone who wishes to remain in thailand...that is certainly my case...thailand holds little attraction for me, except that i care for one special person...i'm sure many of us are in that same situation...

Not from where I am sitting, am financial and couldn't wait to exit the land of slavery which was a 10 year plan, which worked out to the tee.

 

Best decision I have EVER made, suffice to say, I believe that if people cannot be happy here, they won't be happy anywhere else, just my opinion.
