When do I report again for 90 day extension

Featured Replies

Just retuned from a visit to Norway. Did the Re-Entry permit and arrived back in Thailand on 22nd October.

My last 90 day report, before I left Thailand, said I have to report again on the 23rd of November.

I usually do this online but I have tried many times today and can not do.

Am I right in thinking that this is because  my next 90 day report date is now changed due to my  leaving the country  and I have now to report 90 days from when I arrived back in Thailand.

I suspect this is covered somewhere but the 'search' did not provide the answer.

  • You don't need to report on Nov 23rd because you left the country and didn't stay continuously for 90 days.
  • If you entered on Oct 22nd that is day 1 of your current (new) 90 day count, which makes your next report due, if you don't leave again, on Jan 19th.

Thanks 'elviajero' for the reply.

As I could not renew the extension on line, where I normally have no problem, I guessed this was the reason.

Good to have it confirmed though.

Just to clarify, you are not renewing your extension, you are merely making a 90 day report stating your address.

The reason you can't do the online is you must be no more than 7 days prior to the reporting date for it to work, I found that out the hard way.

Pretty sure that for the online to work it must be done between 15-7 days before the due date.

Yes,  you are correct, well almost. You can do online for the period of 14 days before the given date and not less than 7 days. for reporting

I found this out to my cost last year when I forgot to do and tried 5 days before due date.

Sorry incorrect, see reply to 'mumurray' below. I think the first reply from 'elviajero'  is most likely correct.

Slight change of topic but have returned from Australia in September and again on  9 November. Both times the passport was stamped "admit until 7/3/2017 which is when my retirement extension finishes. I presume I still need to do a 90 day report in February before the extension end date but am I correct?

You will need to do the report on or before February 6th.

  • Yes. Your 90 day report is not linked to your permit to stay ("7/3/2017") and should be treated as separate procedures.
  • You can apply for the new extension of stay 30 (maybe 45) days before it ends. If you make reports in person, and want to avoid two trips to immigration, you might be able to apply for the extension early and within the window of the 90 day report.
