Prayut congratulates Trump

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has congratulated US President-elect Donal Trump and expressed hope that the Thai-US ties would be strengthened under the new president.

“On behalf of the people of Thailand, I wish to extend my warmest congratulations to you and Governor Mike Pence for being elected the next President and Vice President of the United States of America.  Your victory is remarkable and clear evidence that the American people have placed their trust and confidence in you to lead the country forward. I offer you my best wishes and support in this regard,” Prayut said in his message to Trump.

In the message, Prayut said bonds of friendship between peoples of the two nations have always been strong and enduring.

“I truly believe that the relationship between Thailand and the United States will be strengthened under your leadership.  I look forward to working closely with you and Vice President- elect Pence to reinvigorate the mutually beneficial relationship between our two countries and peoples, and advance the strategic partnership between ASEAN and the United States,” the message said.

This is pretty much as template as it gets, ain't it? lol

Congrats trump.

And Trump asks: "Sorry, who are you?"

Mind you that could apply to many leaders.

Prayut's english has really improved.

Widely attributed to him but never any evidence of it in any of his work.  He certainly wasn't attributed with the last part although that is undoubtedly correct.

It is an intelligent and funny enough phrase to belong to Oscar so I'll continue to associate it with him until it is proven someone else said it.

Mr Trump, Prayuth is on the phone.

Who?  Oh tell him to polish the Lexus and pick me up at 10 sharp.

My old man had an alternative version: sarcasm is the lowest for of wit.....but it sits well on a gentleman .

The paragraph about rice deal seems omitted.

It is doubtful Thailand will ever even hear from him, unless they lower their trade barriers.

Of course my solution was much simpler and straightforward.

Somehow such praise by the leader of an insurgency that overthrew an elected government seems unbecoming. But then Trump has a habit of praising dictators. So maybe quid pro quo.

Intelligence and trump?

Ha, ha, ha...

Good one, that is indeed funny.

The P.M. likes Trump because the P.M.  thinks that they both got in by the back door, without a shot being fired.
