Disappointment too much as soccer fan suffers heart attack watching Thai World Cup qualifier

KAMPHAENG PHET: -- A Thai football fan had a suspected heart attack while watching the exciting World Cup qualifier between Thailand and Australia last night.

 

A niece of the victim said that shortly after Australia equalized to make the score 2-2 her uncle had died as he cheered his team on, reports Daily News.

 

Police in Samut Prakarn found Mekhin Sura, 39, a building contractor from Kamphaengphet dead in front of the television in a two story townhouse in Soi Mangkorn Nakdee.

 

The dead man's niece Sasimon Butnamphet, 20, said they had been watching the Asia zone qualifier together.

 

After Australia leveled the scores they were both disappointed. She said she went downstairs to have a shower leaving her uncle to watch the rest of the match in the bedroom. Shortly after she found him dead in front of the TV.

 

Police said they suspect he had suffered a heart attack from watching the football or it might have been the strain of work.

I'm not having any of this. I can't see how  watching Thailand v Australia did it for him. The source of excitement was probably some paint drying nearby
