maerim Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 Something about rock stars? Peter Townsend of the rock group the Who was done for downloading child porn from the net. He was traced through his credit card details by a dedicated police child porn unit in Scotland yard London. He said he was only doing research, yeah course you were Pete. Still he is on the sex register now and will be for ten years. This, believe it or not is very effective with 95% complience rates because of the very severe penalties for non complience and in my opinion a very good thing to.
davethailand Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 child abusers, rapists etc are the lowest of the low and they deserve zero respect and no human rights whatsoever.. if guilty they all deserve to rot in jail with no chance of parole.
simon43 Posted April 30, 2004 Posted April 30, 2004 A comment about Gary Glitter. I don't think he has ever been accused of any crime in Cambodia. And his crime in the UK (downloading child pornography), is not even considered a crime here in Thailand! (And presumably not in Cambodia). Gary served his time in the UK. I'm not wishing to be accused of out and out support for him (or for David), but in my book someone who has paid for his crime should be treated fairly. If he commits the crime again, (whatever that crime is), then by all means throw the book at him/her. Simon - Married, 3 kids, gorgeous GF PS - Anyway, I thought the Cambodeans deported him to Thailand last year???
