IMMIGRATION TODAY WHAT A JOKE

Featured Replies

WELL I GOT THERE TODAY AT 8-45 NUMBER 58, ok not too bad flying along nicely, to about 24, then the led system packs up,

followed by those <deleted> of agents who dont get a queue ticket and just jump the queue, and walk into the booths there were 4 that i saw during my long sit down (my ass) so the queue just stalls as the first two booths out of five are being used by agents leaving only 3 available for us who have legit tickets, finally sorted at 11-45, was going to try for a certificate of residence, so get another ticket number 116, OH it' s 12 o clock, time for dinner. and we are up to number 43, NO THANKS i have had enough by now time to get off home. is there anywhere in Bangkok where i might get this cert or is it that dreaded WATTANA for another visit. thanks. KC

Your embassy.

Expect to pay.

If British, it is about 3,000 baht now I believe. Ireland Embassy about 1,500 baht or so.

Only at your embassy or consulate.

I am not english, and have a hard time to understand what kind of "cert" the OP needs. The 2 following posters seems to understand, but for me, non native english-speaker. what in h;ll... kind of cert are we talking about.

Grateful for an explanation.

A residence certificate is an official one page document that states you are living in Thailand. It formally recognizes your current home address (permanently or semi-permanently), whether it be a house, apartment, or long-term stay at guesthouse or hotel. It’s a necessary document if you want to buy a vehicle in Thailand, get a Thai driver’s license, and sometimes sign up for a Thai bank account.

gdaya folks,

Not at Bangkok immigration. You have to be doing 90 day reporting to them to get one.

Some immigration offices will issue them with a tourist visa entry but you have to do get it at the designated office for where you are living.

Yes I know that...... What I meant was simply... Where in the OP is it written that he needs a residence certificate in particular??? THAT is what I do not understand..

... that what you missed? ^

Should  be free of charge at immigrations, of course you'd get milked for at your embassies ...

I must say, I'm quite satisfied with the Immigration in Jomtien. The staff is very efficient and friendly. So, no use anymore of agents, which i used in the past.

Greetings to Soi 5 Immigration
