So whats the latest on the turkey situation? I cant find any at Tops.

any updates on the turkey situation?

I saw many pre-cooked frozen ones in Makro Pattaya and apparently they have them also in BigC Pattaya. Price seems to be around 450-500B/kg, which is a lot more than I think turkey is worth. No idea about other areas, or about uncooked ones.

A couple of weeks ago I was in Yorkies shop in Jomtien and they had a sign saying that there was a ban on importing turkeys from USA and, as they couldn't source any quality Thai turkeys, they would not be stocking them.

foodland opens in korat on monday,so its a goosy gander this yr. last yrs.butterball was awfull.

Tops in Udon Thani had turkeys on Monday, from the packaging I would guess locally sourced.

2700b for a Norbest at a small shop that specializes in Western food. In Rayong.

I think the pre-cooked Makro/BigC ones are from Australia. The world is a big place and it seems odd for Yorkies to restrict themselves to just the US or Thailand for supplies. Even the UK produces turkey.

I heard that American turkeys have been shipped via Canada to get round the ban.

Maybe Yorkies take the view that nobody in their right mind would pay such ridiculously inflated prices for a bird in Thailand.
