Given the news this week regarding the proposed new 10 year visa, does this mark the end for the Married and the Retirement visa's now available?

On reading the press reliese's it would look very much that way.

Given the constraints of the new visa, the simple fact that is is way out of the financial reach of most 50+ year old long stay residents such as my self, could this mark the end of the road for the ex-pat community around Thailand ?
