New coastal bridge becomes latest Chonburi landmark

CHONBURI, 24 November 2016 (NNT) – Chonburi has opened a coastal bridge extension for public use, creating a new tourist landmark for the province while also alleviating traffic in its urban areas.

The bridge was built as part of Chonburi’s urban development plan. The structure, dubbed “84th anniversary Chonlamartwithi”, was commissioned to address traffic issues in central Chonburi and extends a coastal bridge from the Rua Bai roundabout to Soi Somdej. Users of the extension will be able to connect directly to Sukhumvit road to travel back to Bangkok, circumventing congested city areas.

The bridge has also become the province’s latest tourism landmark with its sea view and notable stops such as Wat Khao Bang Sai. Several more such extensions are being planned.
