Dhammachayo’s followers will not resist police arrest if they are not panic

BANGKOK: -- Followers of Phra Dhammachayo will not obstruct officials when they make arrest of the embattled monk in the compound of the temple providing that the officials must not cause panic among them, said Mr Ong-art Thamnitha, spokesman of the followers, on Thursday.

Reacting to warrant issued by the See Khiew provincial court for the arrest of Dhammachayo on forest encroachment charge and the decision of the Office of Attorney-General to proceed with indicting the monk on charges of money laundering and receiving of stolen valuables, Ong-art said Dhammachayo would not run away from Thailand as rumoured because the monk does not have a passport.

He said the monk is still sick and is receiving treatment at the temple. He assured that followers of the monk would not resist attempt by the police or the Department of Special Investigation to arrest the monk.

Looks like a few thousand tranquilizer darts have to be readied...

The best way not to panic is to meditate.  :passifier:

Balls to that, they're obviously not real monks if they're protecting a guy with multiple arrest warrants out for him, and if they are wilfully breaking the laws of the land by resisting law enforcement agents in the execution of their duty. Get in there and arrest this muppet, and don't give a second thought about panicking anyone, they'll surely get over it in time

All building up nicely to a tailor made excuse for inaction as the authorities will claim that in order to prevent injury, bloodshed and possibly worse they'll not force entry.

There will be some BS about resolving it by negotiation which will drag on and on but no one will lose face and likely no arrests either.

If they are not panic.

Not only that, anyone obstructing justice, ie an arrest,  should be arrested too.

Thaiglish, one would assume the headline and article writers are separate people.

Would the followers please submit a list of what actions might lead them to panic? Set some expectations and rules? Do cops need to buy new orange uniforms, for example?

And arrest any other idiot that gets in the way - give them something to panic about.

Sounds like something out of the UK's "Dad's Army" program  ......Don't panic'!  Don't panic!

my first target would be the mouthpiece  in the suit for obstruction of justice - see how he likes chicken head soup for a couple of years

Hardball Hardball - these people would soon get out of dodge if they thought they were destined for BBK Hilton

Hire the Mossad to do the job

I bet they will have to go in with the whole battalion and the army tank same as they had to do some 20 odd years ago.

This story is hilarious.

What a bunch of wallies run this country.

Additionally I would love to see/hear someone ask a dozen of the 'followers' why they are so blindly supporting a man who already has a long-term unsavory history and now his involvement in accepting money stolen from poor old people etc???

After this one is jailed along with his hangers on who are deeply involved, including the smart mouth spokesman, (if found guilty), I'd love to see the case about the golf course continue quickly to an end with those guilty jailed for many years.
