PHRAE: -- A teen girl was caught with several illegal wildlife items at her home in Phrae province. She has been arrested for attempting to sell these items through her personal Facebook page.

In a raid on Sunday, police seized four tiger pelts, two tiger teeth and a set of deer antlers from the home of Tamonwan Prombut, 18, in Hua Muang, after getting a tip about her illegal activities.

The police received the anonymous tip that illegal animal items were for by the user “Pang Tamonwan” on Facebook. The tipster also provided the girl’s address, reported Bangkok Post.

No sympathy for these people !!!

Although only a minor issue of identification (which, no less reduces the seriousness of this girl's actions), the skins are not from Tigers, they are actually those of the Clouded Leopard (Neofelis nebulosa) - see http://www.cloudedleopard.org/about_main.

Regardless of this, they are still classified as an Appendix I endangered species under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (https://www.cites.org/eng/app/appendices.php), and therefore their international trade is prohibited. So, it's going to be interesting to see how the Thai authorities handle this case.

Kinda doubt she hunted them down herself, yet no mention of others involved (other than family who, as per script, know nothing).

What do they do with these after confiscating them?

Sell em of course.  I can't believe they are putting all this on her.  There has to be much more to this.

She is not responsible for killing the animals , they should look for the hunters instead.

Another question should be were they hunted or was there a breeding programme to cultivate the animal parts and pelts?

That's where I would be looking........................;)
