Water supply tops list of Pattaya residents’ gripes

City legal chief Sretapol Boonsawat said meetings with community leaders will be held monthly to keep city hall in touch with the issues most important to residents.

PATTAYA:--City legal chief Sretapol Boonsawat was joined department heads and representatives from the Provincial Waterworks Authority, Provincial Electricity Authority and other utilities at city hall to meet with members of Pattaya’s 42 communities.

Citizens aired their usual grumbles about trash, roadworks, noise, street lighting and inoperable CCTV cameras, but poor water flow was the most-common complaint.

Sretapol said problems with residents not having enough water for daily use has been brought to the attention of the PWA and will be investigated and solved.

The meeting also showed that Sretapol’s crusade against encroachment has motivated the public, with several neighborhood leaders offering up targets for the top lawyer’s next crackdown.

Does Pattaya City even have a commercial/industrial public utility system?

I once saw a 3m deep hole at a construction site on South Pattaya Beach road with every manner of pipe, wires, and "stuff" exposed. No seperation, no identification, no color coding, etc.

And if I ask a person at a condo or hotel where does the water and electric come from, where does the shit go? I receive a stare similar to that of a deer caught in the headlights.....
