Tourist Single Entry Visa 60days need 65 days how

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a Tourist Single Entry Visa which covers me for 60 Days. Adelaide Sth Australia.

In my wisdom my airline ticket is for 65days so i need 5 more days. Tried changing the ticket cost more than the original ticket, so not an option.

When i asked at the consul here ,it was suggested that when i arrive in Thailand maybe immigration will extend the extra 5 days.

Has any one had success with this ? or what is the best path for an extra 5 days.

Thank you

You can extend by 30 days at Immigration.

1,900 Baht fee.

Thanks Lite Beer

at the airport when i arrive? or will i have to wait until the end of my trip?

At the end. Or have a regional trip within the last few days, arriving as a visa-exempt tourist.

You will recieve a 60 day entry stamp on arrival with your valid SETV visa.

The immigration will alllow you to extend that arrival stamp at immigration by 30 days for a fee of 1900 Baht.

I have done this at immigration many times.

They simply add 30 days to the end date of your arrival stamp for that 1900 Bhat fee.

You will need a copy of your passport I.D. page, the application form for the extention, 2 photos, and the fee.

In Bangkok this can all be done at the immigration office in Chaengwattana.

Just plan ahead and picj a day for it. Remember the immigration office in Bangkok is closed on ekends and Thai holidays.

May take wait time for that day as you need to take a number and wait for the queue number to be called. my be up to 4 hours if many people in the queue.

Food and snacks down on the first (ground) floor while you are  waiting for your number to b called.

Different immigration offices may want you to wait for at least 30 day after your entry on arrival stamp before applying for an extension.

The extension when approved is simply added on to your original entry stamp arrival date, so you lose no stay time in Thailand.

Just the 1900 baht approval fee.

You can go and extend it for 30 days within 7 days of it expiring for another 30 days as the poster said for 1,900  baht

First read the rules for application of visas. The 60 day plus 30 day extension is correct. If you haven't applied for the visa yet, you could get a 90 day visa and avoid the 30 extension visa hassle. You just have to prove your income is above a certain level for the previous 3 months at the time of application.

'Never heard of this although it WOULD make some sense in a perfect world.  So, when applying for your single-entry tourist visa back home, you can just provide a letter or something (along with some proof of income) and request something other than the usual 60days (in this case, 90days)?  You've actually done this?  Where, exactly?

Thank you to all that replied.

yes I already have the 60day visa which is free at the moment.

I guess I was hoping to extend it on the way in at the airport less hassle.

Happy to pay the money 1900bht.

Just a bit of extra running around at the end. Will be more careful with dates next time. Joys of getting old.

merry Christmas to all

cheers
