BANGKOK, 13 December 2016 (NNT) - The Deputy Prime Minister has embarked on an official visit to China to discuss on both countries' mutual cooperation on several important issues.

Deputy Prime Minister Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan said before his visit to China that he will discuss several issues with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on behalf of Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha.

The Deputy Prime Minister and the Chinese Premier's discussion will cover issues such as agricultural products, the Thai-Chinese rail project, illegal tours, and regional security.

On security, both parties will discuss on cooperation through the ASEAN-China framework to organize counter terrorism trainings and meetings, which will be co-chaired by Thailand and China in 2017.

The Deputy Prime Minister further stated that Thailand has bought armaments and he hoped China that will construct a repairing factory in Thailand to reduce logistic costs of repairing equipment, and this could be considered a strategic cooperation in the defense industry.

I can just imagine the private conversations going on between the Chinese after their meetings with Prawit.

Well,  China is  the neighbour  of Thailand,  so  it  is also  very  important for Thailand to have good

relations in business with China.  Good  Luck with  the meeting.  I just wish  our PM  can

get  some  good money making deals with  China,  but  I fear  that  Mr. Green  is to  busy thinking

of the next selfie, to worry  about  China  or Alberta's economies.  You know  that  carbon  tax

is a  more important way  for  our  PM  and  some premiers  to  get  easy  money   than   dealing

with a Foreign  country  for  trade.

Given Thailand's alleged 180+-year association with the US, I look forward to Prawit following up his visit to China with a visit with President Trump in the US to discuss further trade and defense strategies.

If their military equipment is of the same quality as the rest of the "stuff" they produce this is a wise move. Shipping back to China could get expensive.

Careful what you wish for. Deals with China always come with strings attached. Check out some of their Silk Road "deals" with countries that it travels through. With China if your 1 payment late their bailiff comes knocking at the door. It is no longer shooting wars and assimilating countries it now is an economic war with countries starving for cash and like little kids they make a grab for the sucker.

Aloha, Aloha, Aloha

Shouldn't need a THAI 747 for this trip !!!
