Hello,

 

I applied to the London embassy, i live in birmingham.

 

I sent my visa by post using special delivery last thursday, it arrived friday morning at 10.

 

I included the VISA FEE and an extra 10 POUNDS for return delivery as requested on their site. However, on the same day i read online that they waived the fee... will i still be charged?

 

Also, how will they return it? will i receive a tracking code..? 

 

I applied for single entry tourist visa with 3 month validity.

 

I tried calling and emailing with no replies, so im now posting here...

You should have it by the end of the week. They were closed yesterday for a Thai holiday so that would delay it a bit.

Not way to track it as far as I know.

I sent mine to London on Wednesday and got mine back today if that helps :) 

 

You'll get all your money back as the Visas are free at the moment :D

 

EDIT: I think you are supposed to include a stamped envelope for them to send it back (That's how I got mine)

Clarification

Just wait a few days. It will come for sure.

Done it my self, and never had a tracking number.

It said on the site to either include 10 POUNDS for them to send it back OR give a stamped envelope... i just put in 10 quid.

Yeah I had a tracking code from Royal mail on my return envelope (I pre stamped it with special delivery) I don't imagine they give you one if you didn't though! I chucked the tenner in too just to be sure but got it back

nice , yeh i shouldve probably done that too...

 

also what time did it arrive? and which visa did you apply for?

 

it should be the before 1pm right? since the before 9pm special delivery is about 20 pounds.

I am lost for words. How could anybody possible know.

There is NOT a 5 day postal strike next week.There is a strike by the staff of the Crown Post Offices. These are the big Post Offices in High Streets, where the staff are direct employees of the Post Office, as opposed to those little Post Offices inside other stores, such as WH Smiths.

 

it does not affect postal deliveries.

It turned up TODAY at 9 o clock exactly! It\s my first time getting a visa, so was kind of strange to see it's only a piece of paper... am i right?

You should have a full page visa sticker in your passport.

ah thanks yes just checked it.  Was already thinking if all i got was that piece of paper i couldve probably faked that myself haha. Cheers.

Now you have your visa come and enjoy yourself. it's a great SAFE place for a holiday a little self care as in all holiday destinations of the world. ENJOY and always always check your bar bin (recipts for you beer)?
