BANGKOK: -- The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) last night was considering using Article 44 to issue three orders, including regarding the suspension of three bodies.

The first order was about suspending the work of the Political Development Council, National Economic and Social Advisory Council and the Law Reform Commission.

The bodies would not be abolished but would need to be suspended as their terms were ending, he said, adding that individual members would be transferred to back to their offices or other relevant agencies in need of personnel.

"The first order was about suspending the work of the Political Development Council, National Economic and Social Advisory Council and the Law Reform Commission."

An excellent idea, for in a time of political suppression, economic uncertainty, a so called war on graft and reform of the police and criminal justice system, I fail to see what these commissions could contribute.

:shock1:

Whew, for a moment I thought some might actually lose their jobs.....

I think Political Development is on an "inactive post" for quite a while over here.

They could contribute the truth but that might cause some discomfort and embarrassment to the junta. Can't have that!
