Should I get a multiple entry 1 year extension?

Featured Replies

I've had my non immigrant b visa now for 60 days and need to go in soon for the 1 year extension, reason for working in the kingdom. I have a work permit now also. I read that a multiple entry visa means you have to leave every 90 days, then come back. Is that true? I wanted the multiple entry visa because I will be leaving the country occasionally, and didn't want to have to Hassel with a re entry permit every time I leave the country, but I'm not wanting to leave every 90 days for sure. What do you guys think?

Also I need to know can I go to immigration by myself to get it?

What are the real requirement, company documents, etc I need for the extension?

Thanks a lot.

You can not get a multi entry visa at immigration - those are only issued by Thai Consulate sections in other countries.

What you need is a normal one year extension of stay from immigration at 1,900 baht and then obtain a multi re-entry permit at 3,800 baht.  The re-entry permit acts as your entry permit on each return and they will be stamped to the expiration date of your one year extension of stay.

If you get a one year extension based upon working you can get a multiple re-entry permit that would give you an entry that is equal to when the extension ends not 90 days.

You can apply for the extension by yourself but will need a stack of documents from your employer when you do it.

Either you are confused or I am confused aout what you are acually asking.

As it is however, just above my post  Lopburi3 and unbonjoe have given you good truthful answers.

So I'll let this go.

Read their excelant posts.

You must do as Lopburi3 advises. If you only have single entry, your year long visa will be 'used' (cancelled) the first time you leave and return to Thailand.......
