15 day visa extension.

Featured Replies

Hi, I am a 22 year old Dutch guy travelling through SEA.

I arrived in Bangkok the 15th from Cambodia by bus and got a VOA till the 29th. But my plan was to stay till at least the 10th of January (My mistake, didnt do enough research about this before booking the bus)

me and my girlfriend split and were gonna meet up again in Thailand for NYE.

I just arrived in Chiang Mai (17th of Dec) and am wondering about my options. Is it possible for me to get an extension of 30 days at the immigration office? Or do I need to do a visa run to Laos.

If option 2, can I apply for a 30 day visa in Laos or am I obligated to get a 15 day VOA again.

Just to clarify, I have a Dutch pasport.

thank you very much guys!

You got a 15 day visa exempt entry not a visa on arrival. Unless you are from a G7 country you only get a 15 day entry at a border crossing.

You can extend that 15 day entry at a immigration office for 30 days for a fee of 1900 baht.

Do I get these 30 days on top of my 15 days or do they extend it from the moment I go to the immi office?

thanks for the quick reply!

30 days gets added to the 15 days you already have.
