Dhammachayo to face more charges for encroachment of state lands in Phuket and Phang Nga

BANGKOK: -- As the controversial former abbot of Wat Dhammakaya, Phra Dhammachayo, is staying low profile and avoids  turning himself to the authorities to face charges, more charges for land encroachment in Phuket and Phang Nga provinces to build meditation centres are being prepared to filed against him.

At present Phra Dhammachayo and the temple have been faced with over 100 legal cases, mostly encroachment of forest areas in national park, and construction of buildings and other structures with no official permits.

Deputy commissioner of the Royal Thai Police Pol Gen Sriwara Rangsipromnakul was expected to inspect the sites of meditation centres today.

The controversial monk and his temple are accused of illegal forest encroachment at four locations in Phang-nga and Phuket.

The meditation centre, the World Peace Mooktawan, is said to belong to the Dhammakaya Foundation, run by the abbot and the temple.

Pol Gen Sriwara said he would soon travel to follow up the case on the forest encroachment of World Peace Mooktawan in Koh Yao Noi island in Phang-nga and Kuan Jook National Forest to build meditation centre which covered almost 500 rai of land in Phuket.

Just how much deeper a hole can they dig for themselves ???

Makes them look like they are on top of things? Doing something?

what's the use of piling up charges, when the police can't even serve warrants?

Have to feel there's more, much more to come.

Didn't the last National Police Chief say they were the best force in the world although he didn't actually say best at what.

Do not tell us about this NOW!!!   Tell us these things ONLY when you have him in custody and bail is definitely denied.  Otherwise it is just more embarrassing B.S.

First bake the cake.  And put the customer on Ice!!!  Then ice the cake.

Action through inaction. They can pretty well charge him with what they want. This turkey has flown the roost.

Its a pretty fine line between embarrassment and saving face. It gets blurred at times. Love and hate walk a thin line with crossovers. Like any good juggler they are trying to keep this hot potato in mid air.

Blah-Blah-Blah-Blah

Just arrest him. Easy. Talk is cheap. Just like the ones who talk.

Just find them and arrest them - a warrant is "not answering or come forward" a warrant for an arrest is just that - do your job DSI or BIB or send army in - BTW never heard of warrant only lasting 6 days - it's utter BS - and you're either scared or hope the problem disappears - after they've fled - problem sorted

No egg on your face - we tried and tried and tried gave him heads up on everything we were doing via media but not our fault - spineless IMO

Let's hope it stays up there and doesn't come crashing down on their heads like last week's drone.

This is Thainess. Foreigners will never understand Thainess. Thank God for that!

Fox should set up a reality comedy show here, ''MIB (copy)''.  Except right now, they are suing one of the big banks for non-performance of a tv licence debt guarantee.  once bitten? 500 rai of Phuket land is huuuuggggeeeee. I doubt DT could afford that.

This is not a fine line - this is gaping chasm from which face will be impossible to rescue (except, perhaps, in their own eyes).

And in breaking news.

Police raided the compound this morning.

The choppers came in low silhouetted by the rising sun the brave black uniformed special force agents skillfully abseiled from the choppers, moved swiftly to seal all exits and potential bolt holes.

The intrepid commander led his group through the smoke screen clouds to the front entrance and without hesitation crashed through the vault like door, they were in!

Where they were met by the maid, who informed them with surprise Ohh he's not in today Sir come back next week on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Accepting this advise they left to draw up new and bolder plans.
