December 21, 20169 yr Famous police doctor fugitive rumored arrested in Myanmar Picture: Daily News BANGKOK: -- A police doctor involved in a high profile case that captivated the Thai public in 2011 is thought to have finally been captured after hiding in Myanmar. Dr Suphat Laohawatana, was originally wanted in connection with the disappearance of two Petchaburi workers. He denied being involved but was handed a five year sentence in Petchaburi in 2011 for the theft of a car belonging to Samart Numjui and his wife Orasa Kertsap who had been missing since 2009. He was also convicted of hiring illegal foreign workers under human trafficking legislation, reports Daily News. Dr Suphat was granted bail while an appeal was heard but he fled justice. Daily News reported that the fugitive doctor was arrested Tuesday in Myanmar. The newspaper said they were waiting on confirmation from the national Thai police that he had indeed been detained. December 21, 20169 yr If I managed to get five years for stealing a car , that was in place of the death penalty for killing 2 people , I would walk to the prison and say thank you very much. He would have been out in 2 years. What a dingleberry.
